Q. What makes Paws Adventure Walking Service so different from other dog walkers?
A. Glad you asked that, as this is what really makes us unique to this area.
Every adventure we do incorporates these four elements and offers much 'more than just a walk in the park'! Unlike others, we always incorporate our 'Doggy Delight Checklist' which includes our 4 key elements-
Not only that, your dog's adventure is tailor-made around the things they love.
Because we only have a maximum of four dogs per human in the group, we can take the time to get to know your dog and bond with them. We have time to learn what your dog loves playing with, their favourite toy, are they scent motivated and therefore like find it games, do they love agility or would they do anything for a piece of tasty treat.
Your dog doesn't just exercise, they use their brain and work things out. They are shown how to engage with the environment around them, and they learn new skills that will benefit them for life.
We play WITH YOUR DOG, and do not encourage play solely with other dogs. We want us....the human, to be the most exciting thing on the adventure and then your dog is safer and happier, as they are in our pack and close to us at all times.
Q. Are your adventures just for high energy working dogs?
A. No, absolutely all dog breeds are welcome on our adventures and we cater for all types of dogs. We offer our Bronze Baby service for tiny puppies, Silver Strollers/ Silver Stamina for growing puppies, Gold Adventures for all breeds of social dogs who may enjoy a full on group adventure for 1 hour and all day adventures, which we call the Platinum service.
Q. My dog doesn't like other dogs, can she have an adventure?
A. Yes, we have our Rough Diamond service where your dog is taken on an adventure for either 30 mins or 60 mins, entirely on their own with full 1:1 support from their human leader.
Q. I've noticed that you charge more than other dog walkers in this area, why is that?
A. Yes, we do charge more as we are a premium service and provide a unique experience for the dogs in our care. We pride ourselves on giving your dog extra attention, we take time to learn what they love and our 'Doggy Delight Checklist' means that we include added benefits that you would not get from an average dog walker. We play WITH your dog, provide toys and mental stimulation games, we offer dog parkour, natural agility and dog yoga as part of our adventures and we mould the service around your dogs needs rather than just bungling all types of incompatible dogs in one group together.
Q. If something bad was to happen to my dog, would you know what to do?
A. We do everything possible to ensure that this is an event that will never happen, but inevitably some things are beyond our control despite having policies in place to enhance the safety aspect of every adventure. To put your mind at ease though, I (Sarah) am Canine First Aid Trained by the wonderfulRachel Bean RVN and have a fully equipped first aid bag with me on adventures, so I'm fully kitted out with the knowledge and tools to patch up your dog until I can get them to a vet. This training is valid for 3 years and was completed in August 2018.
As a company we also have a staff manual and handbook with risk assessments and procedures to follow in the event of a lost dog or dog attack.
We always get your permission to exercise your dog off lead, and will talk through all aspects of this at the initial 'Meet and Greet' session.
Q. What do you do once the adventure is over?
A. We do our best to clean your dog off as much as possible using towels and some well developed arm muscles, but do bare in mind that they have just been on an adventure and may still be a bit wet or mucky upon being returned home.
Water is offered during the walks and we replenish your dogs water bowl (if you are not in) and give your dog cuddles and a goodbye treat.
If you would like your dog to have an post-adventure, treat filled kong .......this can easily be arranged!
