Meet Sarah (aka Mrs PAWS), founder of PAWS Adventure Walking Service
'Connecting dogs with their environment and nature through play and adventure'
It's not just the dogs that do natural agility, Sarah, Skye, Nelly and Elsa.
Hi, I'm Sarah, also known as Mrs PAWS as I'm married to the job!
I live on the Wirral and I'm obviously a dog lover and have owned dogs all of my life (since age 11). I haven't always lived here and only recently returned here after living in the Lake District for 6 years. During that time (as well as starting a family) I learned quite a lot about Border Collie dogs. I lived with 5 of them as my partner is a sheep farmer and has these very special, intelligent and high maintenance dogs on his farm. My own dog was a bulldog cross so seeing the mix of temperaments in the breeds was very interesting, but lots of fun! I worked on the farm a lot and helped with lambing time etc, but mostly I looked after the dogs. It was because of these beautiful, high energy, clever dogs that I made the decision to offer an adventure rather than a 'normal' dog walk when I set up the business.
You see I realised that the way we keep dogs nowadays is very different to how it was in the past, so there are a lot of dogs in households all over the world that have been bred to do a certain job.....herd sheep, retrieve, scent work etc and not many of them are actually fulfilling their potential......they are essentially UNEMPLOYED and bored whit-less when you go out to work, or out for the day!
So instead of just offering a 'run of the mill' dog walk, I offer an adventure where your dog is interacted with, played with and challenged. More about that HERE.
There is no other service like it available in the area and dogs really enjoy the additional stimulation, brain games, natural agility etc. that we am able offer. We accommodate all sorts of dogs, and have a really good mix of breeds and activity levels.
I understand how important your dog is to you, and I value the trust you put in me.
I know that handing over details about your beloved dog, and the keys to your home is an important and hugely trusting thing to do. I don't take this for granted. I will always treat your dog and home with the utmost respect.
I'm fully insured by 'Clivertons Pet Business Insurers' to walk your dog, transport your dog, and pet-sit.
I've been DBS checked (previously called CRB Criminal Record Bureau) for your peace of mind.
I am educated to degree level.
I have completed a Canine First Aid course run by Rachel Bean RVN.
I attend seminars and courses to constantly improve my skills and service to you and your dog.
Finally, I'm a Mum to two beautiful young children and know that family life is full of love, commitment and hard work. It's my chosen career to help you juggle those commitments and make family life for you and your dog, much easier.
